Taita Taveta KUPPET boss decries student indiscipline

Taita Taveta county KUPPET Executive secretary, Mr Shedrack Mutungi has decried rising indiscipline among students in schools in the region.

Mutungi lamented that parents in the county are reluctant in guiding their school children to be good role models.

He urged them to help teachers in instilling discipline in school children to enable them  concentrate in their studies

Mutungi also asked all education stakeholders to co-operate in order to arrest the prevailing situation adding: “You should not leave cases of indiscipline to parents a lone, concerted efforts  are necessary.”

He also attributed dismal performance in national examinations in schoos in the county to lack of discipline among students.

“Parents should monitor closely the movements of their school children so as to know their whereabouts at all times,” he advised.

He warned students against drinking of alcohol and engaging in drug abuse.
