Suspected brutal killers of Utalii College student arrested

Starehe detectives have arrested two suspects linked to the murder of a 25-year old Job Chihonyi , a student of Utalii College.

The deceased was killed a few yards from the college premises along Thika Road on April 5, 2023.

The suspects Maxwel Omukuba Shisika and Keven Ngechu Wanjiru, both 21, were apprehended following a scrupulous forensic investigation that placed them squarely at the crime scene.

Chihonyi was robbed of his mobile phone before a knife was plunged through his chest, leaving him sprawled on the ground for dead. He was later pronounced deceased on arrival at Guru Nanak Hospital.

The suspects were arrested from their hideout in Kariobangi North. A knife in the possession of Shisika, which is believed to have been used in the murder, was recovered.

At the same time, a mobile phone believed to be the weapon used in the crime, was also recovered from Wanjiru, together with a black motorbike, which was might have been used as a getaway means.

The two are in custody to await arraignment in court to take their murder plea.
