Butere Sub County Commissioner Mohamed Ibrahim Hassan has assured both candidates and teachers supervising the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams of adequate security.

Speaking at Butere sub county examination distribution centre, the administrator noted that so far, no issue has been reported

He noted that the sub county has 33 examination centres and 3491 candidates.

“The exams have officially kicked off today and we have organized adequate security in all the centres. So far we have not had any problems and we hope the exam will run smoothly up to the end,” Hassan said.

He urged parents to be vigilant about the activities their children who are on long holiday partake, arguing that children usually take advantage of long holidays to get involved in drug and alcohol abuse.
