Makueni County Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili has urged students to keep off strikes and use the right channels to express their concerns.

Speaking at AIC Mwaani girls during prize giving day recently, where she was the guest of honor, Mulili thanked the students at the institution for keeping off demos and concentrating on studies.

“This school is one of the best in the county. The enrollment is high due to good grades posted by students especially in national exams. As a result, everyone wants to bring their child here,” Mulili said.

She expressed her concern that there have been strikes in some schools in the county and the parents/guardians have been forced to incur the cost of repairing damaged properties despite most of them struggling to make ends with the economic constraints.

She urged teachers to embrace inclusivity in schools since there are children who take time to understand adding that they should not be discriminated.

Mulili further urged parents/guardians to take full responsibility of their children by disciplining, counselling and being closer to them.
