State to establish 4 ICT centres worth Sh12m

The National Government is set to establish four Information Communications and Technology (ICT) centres in Tigania East Constituency of the Meru County at a cost of Sh12 million.
Area MP Josphat Gichunge said the main objective of the facilities is to provide free internet services in order to enable the residents transact business online with students pursuing online degree courses being the biggest beneficiaries.
Speaking at Athwana in the constituency, the MP said that each of the four ICT centers will be built at a cost of Sh3 million and will be spread across the four main shopping centres within the constituency with the mega facility being situated at Mikinduri market.
