St. Joseph’s Boys High School, forward, Gabriel Silali, has earned a call-up to the Harambee Stars U-17 provisional squad, marking a major breakthrough in his promising football career.
Silali’s inclusion follows an impressive run of performances in both regional and national secondary school competitions, where his goal-scoring prowess, agility, and tactical awareness set him apart as one of the brightest young prospects in the country.
His consistency on the pitch has seen him emerge as a key figure for St. Joseph’s Boys, helping his team maintain a dominant presence in school tournaments.
Confirming the development, one of the school coaches praised Silali’s commitment and discipline, describing him as a player with great potential to shine at the national level.
“Gabriel has shown exceptional growth and maturity for his age. He listens, learns quickly, and gives his best in every game. His selection is well deserved, and we’re confident he’ll make a strong impression with the national team,” he said.

The school administration also celebrated the achievement, noting that Silali’s call-up reflects St. Joseph’s long-standing tradition of nurturing sporting excellence alongside academic success.
“We are proud of Gabriel and our entire football programme. This is motivation for other students to keep working hard,” said a statement from the school.
The Harambee Stars U-17 provisional squad is expected to report to camp later this month ahead of regional qualifiers.
Silali’s selection now puts him in line to represent Kenya on the continental stage—an opportunity that could open doors for an even brighter football future.
