The race for glory at the ongoing national Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) term two games in Kakamega has intensified, with St Joseph Boys High School, Agai Mixed Secondary School, and Musingu High School securing their spots in the boys’ football semi-finals.
Rift Valley giants St Joseph Boys confirmed their place with a commanding 3-1 victory over Serani High School from the Coast region, thanks to a brilliant hat-trick by their talisman Instin Simiyu, who continues to be a standout performer in the tournament.
Agai Mixed from the Nyanza region edged past Moi Mbiruri from Eastern with a narrow 1-0 win, while hosts Musingu High School delivered a master class in attacking football, humiliating Garissa High School from North Eastern 9-2 in a one-sided affair.

In a match filled with drama and goals, defending champions Highway Secondary School from Nairobi region were held to a 3-3 draw by Kirangari High School from Central. The champions, who suffered a 1-3 defeat to St Joseph Boys in their opening match, now face a must-win situation against Serani in their final group game to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
In the girls’ category, Butere Girls from Western region maintained their impressive form with a 2-0 win over Nasokol Girls of Rift Valley. Kobala Secondary from Nyanza edged past Dagoretti Mixed 1-0, while Madeira Girls claimed a 2-0 victory over Mwanambeyu Girls.
The match between Ruiru Girls and Dr Charles Girls ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
After the second round of matches, Butere Girls and Madeira Girls have officially booked their places in the semi-finals, setting up the stage for a thrilling knockout round.
