Participants in an education conference at Garissa Primary School have decried the slow speed of implementation of Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) new curriculum.
They said rolling out the new curriculum in Garissa County was key, to give teachers enough time to comprehend and master the content on Early Childhood Development Education.
Garissa ECDE County Director Ahmed Bashir said due to lack of related books and syllabuses, learning has been compromised.
The Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) Mr. Bishar Mohamed said training of grades 1,2and 3 teachers started early this month under Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) and were now concentrating with ECD teachers so that they’re all at par before curriculum is rolled out.
