Sigalagala National Polytechnic has embarked on a major digital transformation with the migration of its operations to a web-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ABNO.
In an internal memo dated August 11 and signed by Chief Principal Evans Bosire, the institution directed all deputy principals, management board members, heads of departments, and departmental managers to support the transition. The system, the memo stated, is expected to improve accessibility, efficiency, and effectiveness across both academic and non-academic departments.
The migration process will be jointly overseen by the institution’s ICT Manager and the Head of the Department of Computing and Informatics. Departments have been instructed to fully cooperate with the ICT team and the service provider during the rollout.
“All users must adhere to the principles of data integrity, privacy, security, and reliability throughout and after the migration process,” the Chief Principal emphasized.

Heads of departments have also been tasked with submitting reports highlighting any challenges related to system access, data, or departmental workflows, as well as obstacles encountered during the implementation stage. According to the administration, these reports will guide interventions to ensure a smooth transition across all units.
The Polytechnic further announced that training and sensitization sessions will be conducted for departmental staff once the migration process is complete to promote effective use of the new platform.
The adoption of the ABNO ERP system marks a significant step for Sigalagala National Polytechnic as it moves to modernize service delivery and strengthen accountability through technology.
