Shock in Narok as 14-Year-Old student brutally killed in school

Narok Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School has been closed indefinitely after a 14-year-old Grade Nine student was found murdered in the school dormitory over the weekend, sparking outrage and panic among parents and locals.

The body of the student, discovered at night with visible injuries and signs of struggle, was found lying on the dormitory floor, with traces of blood also spotted in a nearby washroom. Police have since launched investigations into the chilling murder, whose motive remains unclear.

Confirming the closure, Narok County Education Director Apollo Apuko urged parents to remain calm and allow security agencies to conduct thorough investigations. “We appeal for patience as we work with police to establish what happened,” he said.

The tragedy has left the school community in grief, with learners, teachers, and parents still reeling from the heart-breaking incident. A group of angry parents stormed the school on Monday, accusing administrators of withholding information and demanding swift justice.

“This school is in my neighbourhood, and we are still in utter shock over what has happened,” said Narok County Executive Committee Member John Gatua. “It is frightening to imagine that a student could be slaughtered like this. We did not hear any noise or signs of struggle that night.”

Gatua condemned the killing as an unprecedented tragedy in the region and stressed the need for urgent measures to boost school security. Some parents warned that if the government failed to guarantee the safety of learners, they would be forced to personally guard schools.

The student’s body was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination as tension continues to mount in the county.
