Shock as Rongo varsity student leader dies

A somber mood has engulfed Rongo University fraternity after the sudden demise of former immediate student president.

According to intimate sources, Michael Ngala died in a road accident along the Rongo-Migori road on Saturday morning.

“He was found lying in a pool of blood on the road after the crash,” reported a student.

Upon learning about the incident, majority of his friends flooded Ngala’s social media with messages of condolences to the family.

Among the well-wishers was the deceased’s former college mate Miton Olele who termed him as a competent visionary leader.

Others who sent touching messages of condolence include Dennis Ogendi and Charles Ngigi who said that their departed colleague had left a big gap that will take long to fill in the community.

Education News was met with unsettling silence during a visit to the on Sunday morning where students in clusters talking in low tones with disbelief seeing that their colleague who was scheduled to graduate this December was no more.

Those leading prayers in their respective assembling halls observed a few minutes of silence in memory of their departed colleague.

Migori County Deputy County police Commander Elizabeth Waloba confirmed the death and promised to relay additional information after investigations.

She appealed to motorists to be careful on the road.

The misfortune comes barely a week after a truck rammed into a crowd and killed 8 people instantly in Migori town.
