Shock and grief have engulfed Konoin Sub-County in Bomet after the body of Mr. Edward Too, the Deputy Principal of Kapkilaibei Secondary School, was discovered floating in River Itare on Tuesday afternoon.
Confirming the incident, Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga said the 49-year-old teacher’s body was found near the River Itare bridge, about eight kilometres east of Konoin Police Station.
According to a police report filed under OB18/21/10/2025 at 12:38 p.m., Koiwa Location Chief Emily Koech notified the police after spotting the body floating downstream. Officers from Konoin Police Station, accompanied by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Konoin, visited the scene and confirmed the incident.

Commander Imbwaga said the body was retrieved and positively identified as that of Mr. Edward Too, a resident of Chongweno Location within Konoin Sub-County.
“Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased had been missing since Saturday, October 18, 2025. His wife, Sarah Too, had reported the matter at Konoin Police Station,” said Imbwaga.
He added that no visible injuries were observed on the body, which was photographed and documented before being moved to Kapkatet Sub-County Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending an autopsy.
