Shinyalu Constituency MP Fred Ikana has urged students in tertiary institutions to remain patient as they wait for bursaries.

Ikana said the Constituency is owed over Ksh90 million for the 2023/2024 financial year.

“Shinyalu is owed over Ksh 90 million and soon the money will be released in bits to help sort pending bills,” he said.

Speaking at St Charles Lwanga secondary school during the Shinyalu Education Day on Saturday, the MP said they had paid Ksh5, 000 as fees for each of the form four candidates in day school in the Constituency.

He said the situation would be salvaged soon owing to a series of engagements he has held with the National Treasury and NG-CDF Board.

The MP said delay in release of funds crippled delivery of critical functions at the constituency level.
