Shinyalu MP pledges to settle school land dispute which has taken a decade

Shinyalu Member of Parliament (MP) has promised to settle the prolonged primary school land dispute, which has lasted for over decade now.

A row brewed at Vukutsa primary school in Shinyalu Constituency, Isukha East following the school land dispute which has been in court for up to a decade.

Speaking during the launch of secondary school NG-CDF Bursaries in Shinyalu Constituency, the area MP Fred Ikana disclosed that the land dispute is between a section of MPs who have failed to deliver on their roles and the community around the school.

MP Ikana further stated that he has come up with strong efforts to settle the dispute, faulting a section of MPs for creating barriers and using it to seek political mileage.

“The land dispute in the school has taken a new twist as teachers and learners face more challenges which are increasing on daily basis disrupting learning programs,” he said.

The lawmaker also said although he has come up with efforts to settle the dispute, but has been held up with barriers as a result of cases concerning the dispute at the institution.

He pledged to fight the battle until the end, promising to make sure the Vukutsa community has received their rights through the school.

The legislator announced to make a follow up and visit the school with principals from various institutions, leaders and friends converging with the community forming a dialogue to resolve the dispute completely

“If there are policy barriers, we are the ones who implement laws and if there is use of money, which is disbursed by the government, it’s not my money but yours and that’s the reason am calling for a dialogue in this community.” Ikana emphasized
