“We want our TVET institutions to be equipped with state of the art equipment’s where our students will get technical skills and knowledge for them to earn a living,” added the principal secretary.

Desai said the government has set aside enough funds for establishment of additional technical and vocational training institutions across the country to address the issues of congestions in the existing public institutions in the country.
“As the government we are aware of the crisis facing major technical and vocational training institutions in the country which are grappling with overstretched facilities and resources in the wake of increased admission of learner,” said the PS
He gave an example of Eldoret National polytechnic which has a student population of over 10,000 forcing the institution’s management to create extra streams to accommodate the students.
