Several Deputy Directors (DD) and Sub-County Directors (SCDs) serving under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have been transferred to new stations in the latest reshuffle of field officers.
Under the same changes, the commission has also promoted some Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) to SCDs and deployed them to new work stations.
The SCDs affected by the changes include David Koech Jewen who has been the Laikipia Central SCD now moves to Tiaty West in neighbouring Baringo County. Also moved is Jefferson Sigey who has been the SCD for Lower Yatta in Kitui County. He now shifts base to Kuresoi South in Nakuru County. The latter station had been vacant for a while and was being being manned concurrently by one of the SCDs in the County.
Similarly, Peter Kangwana who has been in charge of Rongai Sub-County, also in Nakuru County now moves to Nyandarua North to oversee teacher management issues there. Also on the move is Dr. Collins Ariko who has been promoted as a SCD to a DD and deployed to Vihiga County. He has been serving in KItutu Central in Kisii County as SCD.
Dr. Ariko will replace Richard Jomo who now reports to West Pokot in similar capacity. The latter will replace Jayne Nyakoe who has been transferred to Bungoma County to serve on a similar docket.
Education News has also learnt that John Paul Weboke who has been the Marakwet West SCD has been promoted to a DD and deployed to Busia. He replaces Moses Obiayo who retired recently.
Fredrick Mukabane who has been the Bungoma North SCD has also been affected by the changes and has been moved to Pokot Central in a similar capacity. Also shifting station is Carolyne Nandi who has been the Siaya DD. She will be going to Migori County to serve in a similar portfolio.
She takes over from Daniel Munyere who has been transferred to Makueni County in similar capacity. Munyere will take over from Edward Zani who moves to Kilifi County also in a similar position. Also hit by the new developments is Benard Rotich who has been the SCD for Kesses in Uasin Gishu County. He has been transferred to Tiaty East in Baringo County.
In other changes, the Konoin SCD, Benjamin Kamau now moves to a sub-county in Embu County while Likuyani SCD, Francis Abobo will hand over to incoming counterpart, James Maina Njoroge. Abobo will be heading to Mogotio Sub-County in Baringo County to serve in similar capacity.
Abobo will be replacing Julius Chebii who left the station in June this year after being transferred to Chepalungu in Bomet County.
Also moved is Mohammed Hassan Billow who now leaves Kisauni Sub-County in Mombasa to take charge of Kiliweheri Sub-County in Mandera County.
In Nairobi, several CSOs have been promoted to SCDs and deployed to various sub-counties. They include Lilian Khatia who now takes over at Westlands as the new SCD. On a similar note, Phanice Cheshari takes over in Makadara just as Embakasi got also got a new SCD who was formerly a CSO. The identity of that person was not immediately clear.
