Security beefed at Kibabii University to curb theft cases

Police in Kibabii have assured students and residents that the security around Kibabii University will be enhanced to end the frequent hacking of students and theft cases.

Speaking to the press during an annual media relations symposium at Kibabii university, area OCS Fredrick Simiyu said that they were able to recover 20 stolen mobile phones and one laptop and that the culprit will be arraigned in court.

Simiyu added that security officers have enhanced night patrols to ensure that no one is found outside past 10 pm in a move to reduce hacking and theft cases.

He asked the government to help Kibabii police station get a vehicle that will ease night patrols.

 His sentiments were echoed by Kibabii University Vice Chancellor Prof. Ipara Odeo who said that the University has developed a software which will monitor the movement of students in and out of the school.
