The stage is set for a historic encounter tomorrow morning as Musingu High School—famously known as The Scorpions—take on St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale, commonly referred to as JOBO, in the 2025 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term 2 Games Boys’ soccer final.
The match is held at the Mumias Sports Complex in Kakamega County, promising one of the most entertaining and challenging encounters in recent school football history.
Both teams come into this final unbeaten, having played with conviction and class.
Their meeting is more than just a final—it’s a heavyweight bout between two proud institutions whose footballing identities are built on resilience, flair, and tactical discipline.
Musingu punched their ticket to the final after edging out defending champions Highway Secondary School 3–2 in a thrilling semi-final encounter.
It was a revenge mission well executed, as the Scorpions avenged their heartbreaking penalty shootout loss in last year’s final.
Star forward Marvin Ashiundu led the charge with one goal, from open play.
Kevin Mukaramoja added another penalty equaliser to ensure Musingu kept the edge in a tense, see-sawing contest.
Fortune favoured Musingu when Highway gifted them an own goal in the 91st minute.

Their captain, Annan Okumu—brother to national team star Joseph Okumu—marshalled the backline with composure and maturity beyond his years.
JOBO, on the other hand, delivered a footballing masterclass in their 3–0 semi-final win over Agai Mixed Secondary of Nyanza.
Their win was built on high pressing and early intensity, leaving Agai stunned and outpaced.
Collins Mwalati opened the scoring with a clinical finish, followed by strikes from Instine Simiyu and Kiliboi Shadrack.
School Principal Cosmas Nabungolo, hailed as one of the brightest tactical minds in the tournament, has led his side with calm precision and belief.
His leadership has transformed JOBO into a well-oiled machine, ruthless in attack and rock solid in defense.
As the final looms, excitement is at fever pitch across Kakamega County. On his official Facebook page, Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa congratulated the regional finalists with the words, “Congratulations to the Musingu Scorpions and Butere Girls for the emphatic victories. All the best as we storm into the finals!”
The final promises fireworks. With both teams unbeaten, fueled by passionate fans this showdown will be about more than silverware—it’s about legacy.
Kickoff is scheduled for the early hours at Mumias Sports Complex. It’s not just a game.
