Narok County Secondary School Sports Association (NCSSSA) Secretary Jacob Basurei has urged school principals and coaches to meet the Ministry of Education deadline for registering students on the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) portal by February 22 to avoid eligibility challenges during the upcoming county competitions.

Basurei warned that failure to register students within the stipulated timeline could lead to players being barred from participating in the county games.

He emphasized that the online registration process is crucial in verifying the eligibility of students and ensuring fair competition among schools.

Timely submission, he said, will give schools adequate time to address any discrepancies before the tournament begins.

The county games are scheduled to take place from March 4-6 at Narok Boys High School grounds, and are expected to attract teams from various secondary schools across Narok County, all competing for a chance to advance to the Rift regional level.

Basurei, who serves both as the county secretary and the sub-county secretary was speaking during the closure of the Amalo Sub-County Secondary School term one games held at Rongena grounds.

He commended schools that had already completed the registration process and encouraged those yet to do so to act swiftly.

He also called on players to intensify their training in readiness for the county competitions.

Basurei urged players to remain disciplined and focused, noting that adequate preparation will enhance competitiveness and improve the overall standard of the games.

He expressed confidence that with proper organization, adherence to deadlines and commitment from all stakeholders, the forthcoming county games will be successful and provide a platform for nurturing young sporting talent.
