Administrative Secretary, State Department of Roads and Aviation, Abbas Mohammed, has called for serious nurturing of trees after mass planting like the one witnessed during National Mazingira Day.
Speaking at Muthini Primary School in Makueni County, where he was the chief guest representing his PS, Teresia Mbaika Mohammed, noted that environmental conservation is not all about planting trees but planting and nurturing them to maturity, adding that it is a serious concern that everyone should take responsibility for.
“You see, we keep on planting trees every now and then, we must make sure we grow them to maturity. I encourage teachers to teach our children how to plant and care for the trees till maturity,” Mohammed said.
