According to the 30 week academic calendar drafted by the Ministry of Education, schools should be breaking for first term half term from 26 th to 29th August 2021.
The half term break will expose children to high risks of contracting Covid -19 as the positivity rate of the virus is currently high according to statistics from the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Education is working closely with the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization to ensure students, teachers and non-teaching staff are at a low risk of getting Covid -19.
The ministries will ensure that all the protocols put in place to curb the spread of the virus are followed.
