The stage is set for one of the most anticipated youth volleyball showpieces as dozens of primary and secondary schools prepare to battle for bragging rights at the Kipchumba Karori Eldoret International Volleyball Tournament, scheduled for December 19–21 at Eldoret National Polytechnic.
This year’s edition has attracted an impressive lineup of institutions from across the country, reflecting the rapid growth in the depth of talent in school volleyball.
The schools’ category is expected to inject unmatched energy, raw talent, and passionate competition into the prestigious tournament, which also features elite clubs from Kenya, Uganda, and South Sudan.
The organisers gave a lifeline to school teams, who will not be required to register at a fee.
In the boys’ category, giants Andersen Boys High School, Ziwa High School, Bokoli Friends, and St. Patrick Koykoy (Trans Nzoia) headline a strong field. Andersen Boys, known for their solid blocks and disciplined play, will be hoping to stamp their authority early. At the same time, perennial competitors Bokoli Friends arrive with a reputation for aggressive attacking and unmatched consistency.
Ziwa High, featuring both boys’ and girls’ teams, will rely on depth and experience as it seeks to dominate on both sides of the draw. St. Patrick Koykoy, making a return to high-tempo competition, is expected to be a dark horse capable of springing surprises.
