Schools in Nyanza and Western regions have performed superbly in the 2023 KCSE; Maseno, Maranda and Butere Girls proving their mettle as results continue streaming in.

At Maseno School, a total of 36 candidates scored A Plain while 126 posted A-, with the Deputy Principal Peter Nyamach saying the school got a mean point of 9.4.
At Butere Girls, some 13 candidates scored A Plain while 68 secured A-, the Chief Principal J Omondi revealing that their mean stood at 9.1. Maranda High had a mean score of 9.5 to cap a successful academic year as the Chief Principal Edwin Namachanja attributed this to hard work by students and teachers.

Mbita High School posted a mean of 9.2.
