Schools in Kisumu wind up 8-4-4 resoundingly as top candidates score over 400 marks

Kisumu twin sisters Givens and Gayne Ochiengs who scored 417 and 410 marks respectively in the 2023 KCPE examinations. Most Kisumu schools performed well in the last KCPE.

Schools in Kisumu wound up KCPE and 8-4-4 on a resounding note with impressive performances, quite a number of top candidates scoring over 400 marks.

Golden Elites School Kisumu led the pack as the first pupil scored 420 marks, and only two got below 300. May Maggie, the top girl, said the results completely surprised her.

“I want to thank God for this result, my parents, my teachers as they have worked tirelessly and have never given up on us,” she said, revealing her ambitions to study medicine.

According to the Deputy Head George Abira, 9 candidates scored over 400 marks, associating the good performance with consistency of the teachers and the high level of discipline of the candidates and their commitment to do better.

Abira said they have made it a habit to place God first in whatever they do.

It was also song and dance at Hekima Primary School after it produced several pupils with over 400 marks.

Leslie Akinyi scored 408 marks and hopes to join Moi Girls High in Eldoret.

School Director Richard Guya attributed the good results to teachers and pupils’ hard work, adding that they have always left everything to God.

Elsewhere, public schools in Kisumu County recorded better performances compared to the previous years, an achievement teachers attribute to hard work and collaboration with parents.

At Maseno Girls Boarding Primary School, more than 10 candidates scored over 400 marks, with top candidate Oro Queen Knight getting 419 marks.

Top student at Pandpieri Primary School Chrispine Ochanji scored 402 marks.
