Kangundo AIC primary school which accommodates pupils with hearing impairment is seeking infrastructure improvement assistance from the government and well-wishers.
The school headmaster Timothy Musyoka told Education News that the Hearing Impairment (HI) wing lacks proper sanitation, good classes and dormitories and the over 40 pupils with hearing impairment are struggling to keep up with their counterparts.
“We have two schools, the regular and the hearing impairment wing. The HI unit is doing well we have the teachers but some things need to be improved. We are calling upon the government and well-wishers to come to our help in the construction of the said infrastructure,” said the headmaster.
He noted that the regular wing is doing fine in term of infrastructure as the government has undertaken several projects in their favour.
“We are trying our best to ensure children living with disability get the same academic opportunity as any other child but we cannot do that on our own.” He added.
