Katwanyaa High School in Matungulu sub county has benefited with over 50 laptop donations worth Ksh 6 million from Angaza ICT Literacy Centre.
It was the only school in Machakos County that benefitted with the laptops.
The school principal David Muange said that the laptops will help in ICT integration in all subjects.
Muange noted that the project is a major boost because they were using a projector while teaching the students.
“With the laptops, even the students are eager to learn. They look forward to the classes because each of them has one, no sharing and their concentration in class is promising,” said the principal.
“It will ease the administrative burden on teachers and free them to spend more time teaching substantive material, the students will also grasp what they can see and apply, I’m sure it will transform the class experience” he added.
He disclosed that the students are also able to link up with other schools online during a certain class.
The project aims to achieve 90 percent technology literacy for rural Kenyan secondary schools by end of 2028.
