Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has this evening announced disciplinary action against 34 Heads of Institutions (HoIs) following the release of the School Data Verification Report.
The nationwide audit, which started in September 2025, revealed widespread anomalies in enrolment records submitted for State capitation funding.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that 14 HoIs failed or refused to submit verification data, while 20 others submitted inflated enrolment figures.
“Submitting false enrolment data constitutes gross misconduct,” Ogamba said.

The report has been forwarded to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for administrative action.
“TSC will take appropriate disciplinary measures against the affected Heads of Institution,” the CS pointed out
“Accountability must be upheld at every level.”
The verification exercise reconciled school-submitted data with records in NEMIS, which determines funding allocations for Free Primary Education, Junior School Education, Free Day Secondary Education and Special Needs Education.
