A Form Four student from Mary Hill High School in Kiambu County on a weekend disguised herself in civilian clothes and disappeared from school for unspecified reasons.
Ruth Wanyaga is said to have stolen civilian clothes from the school head girl and camouflaged herself thus managing to walk out of the highly barricaded perimeter fence.
According to a source who sought anonymity, the student has been complaining of the school’s unrelenting discipline and push for performance which she said did not augur well with her troubled family background.
The source said that the student known to be quiet and reserved appeared to be having a social problem and attempts to have her divulge what was troubling her bore no fruit.
The school administration refused to disclose any information concerning the case while the area Director of Education Ronald Mbogo confirmed that his officers were already in the school investigating the matter.
