School Games: Kabarnet High crowned Baringo County football champions

Kabarnet High School has been crowned Baringo County Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) football champions after thrashing Moi Boys High School Kabartonjo 3-0.

The institution will represent the county in the upcoming Rift Valley Region KSSSA Term Two games slated to take place in Bomet County on July 16-20, 2024.

Kabarnet High also referred to as “Titans” hosted the games and used the home advantage to humiliate its arch-rivals Marigat Boys High 6- 1 before demolishing Kolowa Boys by 5-1.

In the girls’ category, Mogotio Girls High whitewashed Kapropita Girls 2-0 to book a spot at the regional level.

The spirited Mogotio affirmed their prowess in the game after penalty scare which was later saved by their goalkeeper.

The county title holder had earlier managed to outshine Solian Girls by 2-0 and Chemolingot 7-0 before engaging Kasisit Girls who lost their bid at the semifinals.

Kabarnet High was humiliated by Emining High in the basketball finals which saw over 5,000 fans attend.

Poror High beat Kabarnet 3 sets to nil in the volleyball final and will represent Baringo in regionals.

Kabarnet Boys High Chief Principal Julius Ndirangu and Kabartonjo Boys High Chief Principal Samuel Akufa hailed students for showing their talents and urged the government to fully commit on funding sport activities.

Akufa further commended his boys for displaying their best ability at the final and promised to beat their competitors next year.
