School deputy principal dies mysteriously

The police from both Kisii and Nyamira counties have started investigations on the cause of death of the deputy principal of a secondary school in the region.

According to the relatives of the deceased who was identified as Jones Onkoba, he left home for a Christmas leisure walk, but never came back.

After a follow up was made the next morning with the help of tips from his close friends, his lifeless body was found lying by the road between Nyagena bar and Nyagena Hospital, at the outskirts of Kisii town.

Police from Manga Police Station confirmed the incident and said that an investigation has started to establish the cause of his death.

“The teacher was dead although the body had no physical injuries,” confirmed one of the police officers.

Pub patrons said that before his death, the late was seen making merry at the pub as he bought beer in plenty for his friends.

The relatives briefed that Onkoba was always a calm man but wondered what might have befell him. They appealed to the police to carry thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to book.

The police from Manga Station assured them that they had arrested the owner of the pub where the late was imbibing and that he was helping them with vital information that might  lead to the arrest  of more suspects.

The body of the deceased was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem to be carried out to help in further investigations.
