Safaricom Foundation (SF) has handed over refurbished classrooms and new facilities to St. Mary’s Gatondo Primary in Embu county, which cost Ksh10.6 million.

Presiding over the ceremony, Safaricom PLC Territory Business Lead Peter Njihia said that Safaricom was keen to give back to the community by promoting education across the country.

The once dilapidated classrooms are now installed with floor tiles, electricity and modern locker desks.

The Foundation constructed a modern ECDE classroom and refurbished two classrooms fitted with modern furniture and proper electric wiring across the school.

The school also benefitted from six modern sanitation facilities with children safety precautionary measures.

It will also enjoy water supply from six 10,000-litre water tanks with a total storage capacity of 50,000 litres.

Njihia urged the learners to utilize the infrastructure to improve their grades.
