President William Ruto is expected to commission key development projects in the education sector during his Bungoma County tour slated for next week.

According to Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, the Head of State will officially open a multi-million shilling storey building at Lugulu Girls National School in Webuye West Sub-County.

Lusaka said the new facility is expected to significantly boost learning infrastructure at the national school, which has continued to register growth in student enrolment.

“The President will be in Bungoma County next week to commission the modern storey building at Lugulu Girls National School,” Lusaka said.

The school’s Chief Principal Dinah Cheruiyot welcomed the development, noting that the project marks a major milestone in improving facilities at the institution.

Cheruiyot said the modern building will enhance the learning environment and help address the growing demand for space at the school.

“We are honoured to host the President during the commissioning of this facility which will greatly improve the learning environment for our students,” she said.

After the event in Webuye West, President Ruto will proceed to Bumula Sub-County where he will inspect the progress of construction of an affordable students’ hostel at Musakasa Technical Training Institute (TTI)

The hostel project is aimed at improving accommodation for trainees at the institution and strengthening technical and vocational education training in the region.

Governor Lusaka noted that improving infrastructure in training institutions is key to equipping young people with practical skills needed in the job market.

The President’s visit is expected to attract local leaders, education officials and residents who will gather to witness the commissioning of the projects.

The tour forms part of the Head of State’s ongoing development visits across the country aimed at inspecting government projects and accelerating service delivery in various counties.

Leaders in Bungoma have welcomed the projects, saying they will contribute to improved learning conditions and support the growth of education and technical training institutions in the region.
