President Ruto is expected to declare Cardinal Otunga Mosocho High School a sports academy tomorrow, December 16, during his visit to Kisii County.

According to Games Teacher Lazurus Mbotela, the school has adequate space to accommodate a sports academy that will help to nurture talents among the youth.

“The school has a long history of hosting games activities owing to its centrality and state of the art fields,” he said.

According to South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro the President will also preside over a funds drive for the newly inaugurated Mosocho Parish Church at the school.

“We have inspected the ground and ascertained that it is convenient for the function. I appeal to residents to turn up in large numbers,” said former Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.

President Ruto is also expected to elevate Nyaguta Vocational Training Centre into a National polytechnic.

“We know the president has a soft spot for TVETs to realize his ‘bottom-up’ transformation model of development,” Human Rights Activist Rachael Otundo said.

Ruto will also visit the stalled Daraja Mbili market – Kisii Town bypass road that was started two years ago.

The inauguration of the Mosocho Parish increases the number of Parishes to 35 in the Gusii Region.
