GG Rumuruti Boys High School will seek glory during the upcoming Laikipia County Secondary School Term One Games after a dominant display at the Laikipia West Sub-County championships.
The boys from Rumuruti Boys High School proved their strength and depth by clinching three major titles — basketball, hockey, and handball — in a remarkable sporting achievement that has set the tone for the next stage of competition.
Under the leadership of Principal Sammy Githungu, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Rift Valley Secondary Schools Sports Association, the institution has steadily built a culture of discipline, teamwork, and competitive excellence.
Githungu emphasised their careful approach to competition, saying, “Our players are talented, but we always treat every opponent with caution. No team should be underestimated, and this mindset helps us stay focused and sharp in every match.”
He further noted, “While we aim to win, respecting our rivals is key. By staying cautious and disciplined, we ensure smart play and bring out the best in our athletes.”
Rumuruti Boys Dominate Sub-County Championships
In basketball, GG Rumuruti showcased speed, precision, and tactical awareness to outclass their rivals.
The hockey team demonstrated skill and composure throughout the tournament, while the handball squad impressed fans with fluid coordination and resilience under pressure.
Their all-around dominance made them one of the standout schools in the sub-county games.
Attention now shifts to the county championships scheduled for March 6–7, with matches set to be played at Ndururumo High School and Nyahururu Stadium.
With confidence high and momentum on their side, GG Rumuruti Boys High School heads into the county games determined to extend their winning streak and cement their place as a sporting powerhouse.
