Rift Valley Director of Education James Indimuli have assured parents that all Senior Secondary schools in Rift Valley are prepared to admit Grade 10 Learners in January next year.
Speaking in his office in Nakuru on Friday, September 5, 2025, Indimuli stated that the Ministry of Education (MoE) has implemented all necessary measures to ensure a smooth transition of Learners from Junior Secondary to senior schools in all schools.
“The Ministry of Education have put adequate measures to ensure there is a smooth transition of Grade Ten from Junior Secondary School to Senior Secondary School, where every learner who chooses a pathway of their interest will achieve their future career goals,” said Indimuli.
The Director said that Senior Secondary Schools have adequate classrooms where learners can learn, as well as sufficient laboratories for various subjects, where practical lessons will be conducted.
He also said teachers will be available to welcome all grade Ten learners to their Senior Schools to teach them various subjects based on their pathways.
“Our Senior Secondary School Heads are well prepared to welcome Grade Ten in their Senior Secondary School, our teachers are as well prepared to receive and teach Grade Ten, who are the Pioneers of Competency Based Education. We will take good care of our CBE Pioneers in all our schools within the Rift Valley Region,” said Indimuli.

The Director also urged parents to play their part by starting to prepare to buy the required learning materials and necessary Books so that they don’t find themselves unprepared when the time comes to admit their children to Senior Secondary School Grade 10 early next year.
“We want to urge parents of grade ten to prepare themselves psychologically so that they give our learners ample time as they will report to their school of choice to study their various pathways,” said the Regional Director of Education.
He also encouraged all education stakeholders, who include Religious leaders, school sponsors, teachers’ unions, and other organisations supporting education in the Rift Valley, to join hands and support the government in its initiative to ensure a smooth transition from Grade 9 to Senior Secondary School next year.
Indimuli said the MoE is committed to fully implementing CBE to benefit all learners in the Region, as Pioneers of CBE are expected to set foot in Senior Secondary School early next year.
