Rift Valley National Polytechnic (RVNP) has been hailed by TVET Principal Secretary Esther Thaara Muoria for being a trailblazer in innovation, praising its monumental strides that have realized the government’s agenda to instill technical skills among the youth.
The PS, who was speaking on the sidelines of the institution’s 17th graduation ceremony marked with pomp and color, acknowledged its achievement of becoming the first in Africa to win prestigious global gold awards in Sustainable Development Goals and Leadership in Diversity at the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) held in Canada.
Dr. Muoria said that recognition of exceptional dedication towards advancing sustainable development and demonstrating brilliant leadership in diversity and inclusion identifies the Polytechnic as an institution inculcating the values and principles of global citizenship, national values and sustainability.
RVNP Chief Principal Sammy Chemoiwa, who recently won individual gold in Leadership and Diversity at WFCP, said that the institution was strategically poised to churn graduates with vast knowledge ready to transform the TVET sector following measures put in place by the institution towards realization of Vision 2030 and Africa’s Agenda 2063.
He singled out Mark Kiplel, a graduate and Bronze medalist at the Start Up Africa Olympiads fete in Canada, who presented an egg incubator and has inspired and provided viable solutions for small-scale entrepreneurs.
