Restive Junior Secondary School, (JSS) intern teachers have been offered a fat chance for permanent and pensionable (PnP) employment by the next Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in the upcoming recruitment exercise scheduled for next week.
According to TSC, the recruitment has been occasioned by natural attrition factors that include retirement, death and resignation of teachers hence the urgent need to replace them.
Under the recruitment score guide seen by Education News, intern teachers will attend the interviews slated for Monday, January 26 to Feb 6 with 50 points advantage against their colleagues who have not served the Commission on temporary basis.
The interviews which will be done at various TSC sub-county offices for primary school teachers and Junior Secondary School (JSS) counterparts and at individual secondary schools or identified venues for post-primary educators, will see a total of 9105 teachers hired on PnP terms by the commission.

In the recruitment, 7065 primary school teachers, 12 JSS teachers and 2028 post-primary counterparts will be hired at the end of the process that involved the educators were granted a seven-day window to attend the interviews.
It is understood that those who will succeed in the interviews will receive their appointment and deployment letters immediately in order to report to their respective schools in time to attend to learners.
To ensure a smooth recruitment exercise, TSC has reportedly sensitized its field officers at the headquarters in readiness for the task. According to a TSC source, the training was done virtually for all concerned parties on January on January 14.
