Rift Valley Regional Director of Education (RDE) Milton Nzioka has urged school heads to be on high alert on Mpox to ensure all learners and staff are safe.
He said the ministry is working closely with that of health and other stakeholders to ensure no infection spreads in schools.
“We are closely working with the Ministry of Health; the school heads have already been instructed to closely monitor the situation in all schools to ensure everything is alright,” said the RDE, pointing out that majority of learners are in day school who are prone to infection on a daily basis.
“Almost 60 per cent of secondary school learners are day school students. We urge all parents and the community at large to take precautions and protect them,” said Nzioka.
