Rarieda NG-CDF launches Kshs 100 Million school projects to boost education

Th e Rarieda National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) office has launched the Ksh 100 Million educational and security infrastructure project to boost the quality of education and security in the constituency.

Area Member of Parliament, MP Dr. Otiende Amollo while launching different projects across secondary and primary schools noted due to deliberate efforts of the NG-CDF, there was an improvement in infrastructural outlook across many institutions in the region.

“The NG-CDF has in this financial year invested over Ksh 100 million in construction of new classrooms, laboratories, administration blocks including fencing and putting modern gates to aid in security of our schools,” Otiende disclosed.

The lawmaker launched various included classrooms at Nyabera, Rahongo, Ndigwa,maugo, lweya primary schools among other schools.

Additionally, the MP also launched 2 high mast security light houses worth Ksh14 million at Asembo bay and Owimbi center to improve security in area.

The MP in partnership with Mpesa foundation also launched the construction of a Kshs. 74 million dormitory complex at Ramba high school as part of infrastructure upgrade of schools across the country.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony at the institution, Mpesa foundation senior manager Dr Henry Kilonzo said the project is part of the citizens of the future program that targets to transform infrastructures in schools across the country.

“This year Mpesa foundation is constructing 108 schools in all the 47 counties to ensure learners have conducive learning environment,” said Kilonzo.

He disclosed that the ultra-modern dormitory at Ramba high school was conceived following the demise of two students at the institution after the collapse of a cistern tank in March last year.

The Mpesa foumdation seniour manager said that the 416 bed capacity dormitory will be constructed complete with new ablution block and water harvest system and will be fully furnished with beddings ready for use by student.

Kilonzo further disclosed that the facility which features a resting lounge has been designed with the needs of the current generation in mind to improve comfort.

The manager said that the project will be completed within 10 month and will be ready for handing over in November 2026.

He challenged the students to take advantage of the conducive environment to improve their academic performance and asked the institution to take good care of the facility.

MP Amolo expressed gratitude to Mpesa foundation for their gesture saying it would ease congestion at the school and improve learning conditions.

He on the other hand committed that the area NG-CDF will sink additional bore holes to ensure consistent water supply at the newly constructed ablution block.

Dr. Otiende further revealed that construction of a modern dining hall donated by President William Ruto will be commenced soon as part of infrastructure upgrade at the school.

“When president William Ruto visited the region last year ,he gave a promise to donate Kshs. 20 million for the dining hall and I can confirm that we have so far received Ksh10 million to begin the work as we make follow up for the remaining Ksh10 million,” Otiende said.

The Ultramodern dormitory at Ramba High School becomes the fourth infrastructure upgrade by Mpesa foundation in Siaya County after Kametho, Oboch and Masita comprehensive schools in the last one year.
Other projects undertaken by the foundation includes the construction of Ksh98 million new born Intensive Care Unit facility at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Refferal hospital in Kisumu County.
