PSC postpones shortlisting of TVET Trainer applicants

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has postponed the shortlisting of 1,300 applicants who applied to fill Trainer positions in 220 TVET institutions across the country.

The Commission had slated the exercise to begin on June 12, but later pushed the date to June 25; and thereafter interviews would commence from July 3, 2023.

Through a letter dated June 19, PSC requested the State Department of TVET to reschedule the commencement date from the previously stipulated dates to June 23 due to unavoidable circumstances.

The exercise will take place in ten regional centres countrywide where the institutions have been clustered.

The shortlisting will be conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Commission with the support of the State Department’s selected officers, County Directors and the host institution’s management.

The Principals concerned have been asked to mobilize their teams and relevant materials before the exercise.

The arrival date will be on Thursday, June 22 while other details remain the same.

The institution heads have been urged to note the changes and inform all relevant stakeholders accordingly.

Additionally, the Commission has also provided the criteria and detailed guidelines for the recruitment exercise in which the principals are required to bring along with them the following; The profile list containing details of all applicants serialized accordingly; The shortlisting panel, consisting of an independent member of the Governing council, the Deputy Principal and Course specialist (Technical Person); The interview panel consisting the Chairperson of the Governing Council, the Principal, Course or subject specialist (Technical Person) who did not participate in the shortlisting; Application forms, arranged and serialized according to areas of specialization; and Any other documents required for the exercise.

Also, they have been requested to facilitate their panel members accordingly to enable them commence the exercise with effect from the said date.
