PSC announces 2,000 TVET jobs for degree and diploma holders

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 2000 job vacancies for vocational and technical trainers through a public notice dated March 5, 2024.

The government is recruiting qualified 1,313 degree/higher diploma and 687 diploma holders who will be distributed across 227 Vocational and technical training institutions around the country.

The trainers will be under the State Department for Vocational and Technical Training.

The details of the posts and mode of application can be accessed on the Public Service Commission website: www.publicservice.go.ke.

Interested and qualified trainers are requested to submit their applications directly to the institutions where the vacancies exist.

“Interested and qualified persons are requested to submit their applications directly to the institutions where vacancies exist by filling ONE (1) PSC 2 (Revised 2016) application form and attaching copies of National ID card, academic and professional certificates, transcripts and any other testimonials,” reads part of the notice.

The applications should reach the respective Boards/Councils on or before March 19, 2024. Each of the advertised vacancies has the minimum requirements provided.

Successful candidates will be required to apply for licensing and registration by the TVET Authority.

Kakamega County will receive the highest allocation at 101, Nairobi (96), Bungoma (88), Meru (86) and Uasin Gishu will get 83.  Mandera and Tana River each will get 17 trainers, Samburu and Marsabit 16 each, Wajir (15), West Pokot (9), while Lamu and Isiolo will get five each.

In 2023 the PSC also recruited 1,300 trainers after advertising the positions on March 28, 2023.

President William Ruto had said the recruitment will boost the TVET education sector in the country.

The government is working to ensure each constituency in the country gets a TVET institution; only 52 constituencies out of 290 don’t have TVET institutions.
