PS reminds tutors of the reforms in education sector

Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, State Department of Early Learning and Basic Education Dr. Julius Jwan, today met with Principals from public Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs) in Kenya at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).

Flanked by the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Dr. Sara Ruto, Dr. Jwan reminded the tutors of the reforms in the education sector.

Key on the agenda was having the first batch of diploma teacher trainees who are Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) complaint. Come July 2021, all TTCs in Kenya will admit the first batch of diploma trainees.

KICD Director Prof. Charles Ong’ondo appealed to the Principals to use the new CBC designs in the Diploma Early Childhood Development Teacher Education (ECDTE) and Primary Teacher Education (PTE) for relevance and quality teaching and learning.
