Interior Principal Secretary, PS Raymond Omollo has hailed the strong planning and collaboration between government departments for the smooth Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) exams proceeding countrywide.

Speaking during a visit to the Starehe Deputy County Commissioner’s office, where he inspected an exam container, Omollo said no major incidents have been reported since the start of the exams from Monday.

“Since these assessment exams began, we have not had any major incidents worth worrying about. This is because of the good coordination and collaboration that has happened between all the players,” Omollo said on Wednesday.

Omollo explained that the Interior Ministry is working closely with the Education Ministry to provide security and logistical support.

He said over 600 containers have been dispatched across sub-counties to ensure the safe storage and transport of examination materials.

PS also noted that the early short rains caused access challenges in some areas, leading to minor delays in delivering exam papers.

He emphasised that rapid response teams have been deployed to resolve these issues, ensuring the assessments remain fair and secure.

“We have had isolated incidents. The short rains have just begun, and there are challenges of access to certain places where we’ve had delays in the distribution of examination papers. But again, the teams have worked around the clock to ensure the integrity of the assessment examination is not compromised,” the PS said.

He highlighted an example from Tana River County, where a local disruption was quickly addressed.

The 2025 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) exams began on Monday.

These assessments follow the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, which started on October 21, 2025, reflecting the country’s ongoing shift from the 8-4-4 system to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

The KPSEA exams are scheduled from October 27 to 29, while the KJSEA exams will run from October 27 to November 3, 2025.
