PS Bitok oversees KJSEA distribution in Ngong, assures smooth exams

Basic Education Principal Secretary (PS) Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok has assured the public that the ongoing national examinations are progressing smoothly across the country.

Speaking on Tuesday in Ngong, Kajiado North Sub-county, after opening a Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) container, Prof. Bitok said the few logistical challenges reported on Monday had been promptly addressed to ensure all candidates continued their exams without disruption.

“I am happy to report that so far, so good. We are on track on matters of examinations. I want to thank all our stakeholders for the smooth delivery of the exams, and we are confident the process will continue smoothly,” said Bitok.

The PS noted that a few examination centres had experienced missing papers but commended KNEC for acting swiftly to supply all affected centres.

Prof. Bitok, who also visited Enoomatasian Girls and Ngong Boys and Girls (Ngong Township Primary) urged education officials to uphold integrity and professionalism during the examination period to ensure a credible national exercise.

He commended teachers, examination officers, and security personnel for their dedication in ensuring the exams began smoothly and pledged continued government support to maintain credibility and fairness throughout the process.

This year marks a historic milestone with 3.4 million candidates sitting for the two assessments, the highest number ever recorded in Kenya.

A total of 1,298,089 candidates are sitting for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) in 32,843 centres, the exams started on 27th and will end on 29th October.

Those sitting for Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) are 1,130,669 in 32,843 centres, the exam started on 27th October and will run to 3rd November, 2025.

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) has also kicked off, 996,078 candidates are sitting for the examination in 10,771 centres.
