Protect children against abuse, Judge urges teachers

By Benedict Ngetich

High Court Judge in Kericho Lady Justice Mumbi Ngugi has urged teachers and parents to protect children from violence, exploitation, neglect and abuse for them to reach their full potential and become productive members in society.
The Judge was speaking during the Day of African child held at Kericho Moi Garden.
Justice Ngugi said there was a great need to acknowledge children facing challenges in their communities and ensure they are made to feel part of society and their rights are not ignored.
She called for concerted efforts to ensure children access education and opportunities to explore their talents.
“In all actions concerning children, their best interests should be a primary consideration, focus should be on the well-being and all rounded progress,” she said.
