Prospective Form ones given one month to change schools

By Mosawe Naomi

The Ministry of Education has given a one month period for learners to apply for a change of placement of those joining form one in the reviewed period that was just few weeks to the deadline.

Education CS Prof.George Magoha

released the selection results for form ones, where many students had concerns that they  were placed in the schools they never chose or which were far.

He went ahead and advised the parents or guardians to send request to the school of their choice, where the school was supposed to accept the request depending on how many vacancies are  available or depending on the category of the school.

Once the school has approved the request of the candidate, the selected ones will be allowed to get the admission letters for the new schools.

After that National Education Management Information System (NEMIS) will enter the details of the chosen candidates to be considered by the Ministry of Education in order for them to be included in the new school.

The national schools applicants will be considered by ministry ‘s head office while extra county schools will be granted by regional co-ordinator and the county schools considered by county directors of education.
