Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) has officially announced the appointment of Prof. Fred Amimo as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), succeeding Prof. Julius Kipkemboi in a smooth and inspiring leadership transition.
The change in leadership was marked by a heartfelt handover ceremony during a Deans Committee meeting, attended by university management, academic staff, and key stakeholders.
The event was characterized by appreciation, unity, and optimism as the university reflected on past achievements and looked ahead to a promising future.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita led tributes to the outgoing DVC, praising Prof. Kipkemboi for his unwavering dedication to the university’s mission and his role in advancing academic excellence.

“Prof. Kipkemboi has been instrumental in shaping KAFU’s academic landscape,” said Prof. Mwita. “His commitment to student success, research development, and institutional growth has left a lasting legacy.”
Prof. Fred Amimo, who now assumes the role of DVC, brings a wealth of experience in university administration and academic leadership.
Known for his strategic vision and collaborative leadership style, Prof. Amimo is expected to build on his predecessor’s achievements and steer the university toward new opportunities for innovation and development.
In his address during the ceremony, Prof. Amimo expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and acknowledged the strong foundation laid by Prof. Kipkemboi.
