Private schools urge immediate action against potential El-Nino floods

Sunlight Academy Director Job Onsabwa addressing the press in his office

The Director of Sunlight Academy Job Onsabwa has called upon both national and county governments to take immediate action to address critical issues that could lead to flooding from El-Nino and disrupt the upcoming national examinations.

During a recent prayer event, Onsabwa urged the government to clear blocked drainage systems, preventing potential El-Nino flooding.

He also stressed the need for repairing impassable roads to ensure seamless transportation during the examinations.

Concerns were raised about the potential impact of the impending El Nino on transportation and candidate movement during the exams, prompting Onsabwa to call for proactive measures.

In addition, the Director assured that Sunlight Academy is well-prepared to administer the exams. With 49 students sitting for KCPE and 41 for KPSEA exams, the school aims to surpass its 2022 mean grade of 380 with a target of 400 this year.

He expressed gratitude to parents and stakeholders for their cooperation, contributing to the school’s success in the sub-county.
