Principals warned against sending students home due to lack of fees payment

Turbo Sub-county Director of Education Dr .Kuyo Ole Saoinah has warned principals against sending students home due to lack of fees.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret town, Dr Ole Saoinah said parents have been badly affected by the effects of coronavirus hence they cannot afford to pay fees at once.

“I am appealing to our head teachers and the principals to understand parents and not send their students home due to lack of school fees. They should instead agree on how to pay the fees,” said Dr. Ole Saoinah.

He also said that pupils who come from far will be given alternative schools to save them from walking for long distances.

He further warned principals against misusing funds given by the government.

“I want to give a stern warning to principals misusing public funds that they will be arrested and charged in a court of law .They should account for every single cent  at their disposal,” he said.

He also advised principals to ensure that they follow the directives by the Ministry of Health such as washing hands, avoiding overcrowded place and observing social distancing rule to prevent further spread of coronavirus .
