The Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) will hold its 47th annual conference and exhibition in Mombasa this week from June 26 to 30, 2024.
More than 7,000 Principals are expected to attend. Willie Kuria, the National Chairman of KESSHA, issued a notice, confirming the will take place at the Sheikh Zayed Hall in Mombasa County.
High-profile government officials including top technocrats at various state agencies are expected to grace the event to be held at the Wild Waters Centre in Mombasa.
Likely to dominate discussions during the occasion include the thorny issue of delayed capitation to schools, congestion in secondary schools arising from 100 per cent transition policy, preparations for JSS students and funding to improve school infrastructure among others.
The climax of the event will likely be dominated by electioneering mood with the teachers set to elect new national leaders.
Key among those positions will be the coveted seat of National Chairman which was vacated by Kahi Indimuli who retired towards the end of last year.
The position is being held by Willie Kuria, the Principal of Murang’a High School in an acting capacity.
